Kobo Resources expands drilling at Kossou project ahead of MRE - Resourcing Tomorrow 2025
Kobo Resources Inc. (TSX-V:KRI) CEO Edward Gosselin talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company's ongoing progress at its flagship Kossou Gold Project in Côte d'Ivoire. Gosselin confirmed that Kobo has now completed over 35,000 metres of drilling and intends to continue drilling through the holiday season. While a maiden mineral resource estimate (MRE) had been expected, he revealed that the company will delay this in light of continued discovery of new mineralisation.
Gosselin explained, “We're developing a strategy to continue drilling that and probably try to extend it and connect the three different zones together,” suggesting the potential for a strike extension of over 3.5 kilometres.
In addition to Kossou, Kobo is also ramping up activity at its Kotobi licence, which is approximately three times larger than Kossou. After completing geophysical surveys and identifying four targets, trenching is scheduled to begin imminently, with drilling expected to start in February.
Discussing the impact of the current gold price environment, Gosselin noted that Kotobi's more remote location still remains economically viable due to favourable pricing. He also discussed Kobo’s recent earn-in agreements with Ivorian license holders, calling them a cost-effective way to explore additional ground. Looking ahead, investors can expect regular updates, with lab results coming in every seven days and press releases roughly every three weeks.
